Please read all the way through before starting this procedure
The DL02s is a compact digital Speedometer with the following functions: Speed, Fuel Gauge (100ohm, 510 ohm) , 2 trip meters, Total Mileage, Average and Max speed recording .
Before you start to program please connect the wiring for the gauge as per the manufacturer’s instructions a quick reference wiring guide can be found below.
Wiring Guide......
Gauge Wire
RED +12 volt permanent live to battery
Brown + 12 volt switched live (ignition switch)
Black -12 volt earth/ ground
Green - 12 volt to negative wire of fuel sender 100 or 510 ohm
White plug (3 wires) Speed sensor
Change Kilometers to MPH
Starting from the main screen press Select Once.
Hold down Adjust button for 3 seconds this changes between KM and MPH.
To Enter Menu
Press and hold down both buttons for 3 seconds this is the standard procedure for all settings and you must scroll through the menu every time. If left for more that 30 seconds the screen resets. The left hand button is the select button, the right hand button is the adjust button.
Tyre size
You will need to measure the outside circumference of the tyre, it must be measured you cannot accurately calculate it, please enter your size in millimetres by entering one digit at a time in the flashing 0 position on the gauge screen using the select and adjust buttons.
For instance if your size is 1800 millimetres, the first flashing position press the adjust button until it displays 1 – after that is set press the select button to move to the next flashing position in the display, press adjust button until it reads 8 - after that is set press the select button to move to the next flashing position in the display press adjust button until it reads 0- after that is set press the select button to move to the next flashing position in the display press adjust button until it reads 0. Press select twice to return to main screen.
Sensor Point
Press and hold both buttons for 3 seconds then press select.
This is where we set up the number of magnets, or if you are using the cable drive converter * the sensor points.
Now you have set the tyre circumference the screen will flash 1P using the adjust button set for the number of magnets (previously fitted to the wheel) any number between 1 – 60. Using the select and adjust buttons as before.
*Cable drive converter – if you are using the cable drive converter instead of magnets use the following system to determine. the number of sensor points – rotate the wheel once noting how many times your standard cable turns per single rotation of the wheel for instance 2.5 turns per single rotation....
Every time the standard cable turns its equivalent to six sensor points (magnets) therefore in the instance of the standard cable turning 2.5 times per rotation of the wheel it will be 2.5 x 6 = 15 sensor points (magnets)
Setting the Fuel Sender Range
Press and hold both buttons for 3 seconds then press select.
Most senders are covered by the following ranges the most important setting is that it reads empty when it is empty. Please connect this wire to the negative side of the fuel sender it is my experience that because the sender is negative switched it will not work from the existing gauge wires.
Using the adjust button select the 100 ohm or 510 ohm range as a general rule of thumb Honda use the 510 ohm range.
