I am getting a lot of emails and queries about fuel gauges as fitted to Koso instruments.
Please read all the way through this post.
Koso instruments that include the Fuel gauge facilty rely upon a resistive fuel sender fitted within the fuel tank, therefore as the Fuel level reduces the reisitance changes and operates the scale on the KOSO instrument. Only Vehicles that already have a fuel gauge with a scale fitted will be able to connect to the koso fuel gauge. To add a further complication the ranges of the fuel senders within the KOSO* system cover 0-100 ohm and 0-510 ohm reisitance levels, if the sender fitted to your fuel tank is not within those ranges then you will need to buy the
fuel sender adapter which has been designed to work with all resistive type fuel senders.
If your bike or vehicle only has a low fuel warning light then it will not operate the Fuel gauge of KOSO instruments the reason for this is because you do not have a resisitve fuel sender in your fuel tank. all thats fitted in your tank is a switch indicating when the fuel level is low, there is no simple solution to this problem other than replacing the low level switch and fitting a resistive fuel sender within your fuel tank.
* The Drift Gauges use a different system.
